VW Beetle customised to look like a panel van / hot rod.
I was browsing through some of the photography here on DeviantArt and there appears to be a surprising number of Beetle photos! So the inspiration to put this piece up comes from the popularity as I remember skipping this image while going through shots not too long ago! I thought "This will give them something to drool over!" as like I did when I first saw it!
I've taken colour away from the background, and slightly softened it, to try and bring up the colour and curves more of the Beelte itself.
It sure was an odd one! You can't see it in the image, but the front had a big (custom I think) bludge bonnet to! It was really something else, but as far as I remember it wasn't finished and needed more work to it!
these are strange creatures... Wizard van kits or something. The front bonnet will be some kind of "willy's" style thing. Now why anyone would want to destroy the classic swoopy lines of a bug and replace it with some unsightly phalic bulge is way beyond me!
We did see one at the Biggar show and it did look, well... different.
I thought the Beetle itself looked very mean... mean with character. Then again, it's the vehicles with mean characters that I'm a sucker for!
I know what you mean though, I'm into my Minis, and to me, adding a bodykit is an unsightly phalic bulge to me! I wish I had of taken some close-ups of this van, particularly the front grille!
This is pretty Cool!! I had a friend that had a wooden flatbed one once, pieced together like a hardwood floor.
It worked great for hauling around kegs of beer....Lol but this one is Fav worthy!!
